Stuart R. Seiff, M.D., F.A.C.S.

STUART RONALD SEIFF Stuart R. Seiff, MD, FACS graduated for Stanford University with a BS in Biology. He received his MD degree from the University of California San Francisco. Internship was served at San Francisco General Hospital under the direction of UCSF. He did his ophthalmology residency at UCSF and fellowships in orbital disease and neuroophthalmology at UCLA's Jules Stein Eye Institute (under the direction of Norman Shorr, MD) and at Moorfields Eye Hospital in oculoplastic surgery (under the direction of Richard Collin, MD). Dr. Seiff is board certified in ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery http://www.asoprs.org/

Dr. Seiff was the Director of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCSF and Chief of Ophthalmology at San Francisco General Hospital for over 20 years. He is now Emeritus Professor of Ophthalmology at UCSF. He continues to serve as a consultant in oculofacial and aesthetic plastic surgery at UCSF, SFGH, California Pacific Medical Center and Mills Peninsula Medical Center. He is the founding director of the Pacific Center for Oculofacial and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Stuart Seiff is a popular lecturer nationally and internationally in the areas of orbital and oculofacial and aesthetic plastic surgery. He has a particular interest in the management of thyroid eye disease. He has published several hundred scientific papers, books, and chapters in these areas and serves on the editorial board for the journal, Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, as well as being a reviewer for many other journals (see below).

Dr. Seiff is the program director for one of the exclusive fellowships in Oculofacial Plastic Surgery nationwide. A fellowship is a course of specialized training after completion of a residency in a recognized specialty of medicine. Dr. Seiff also currently serves on the Executive Committee of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery as President Elect. He will serve as that Society's President in 2009. Dr. Seiff also serves on several committees of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
