Meet Dr. Christine Wang, MD | MSc

Christine S. Wang, MD | MSc is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist with advanced subspecialty training from the world-renowned Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins, one of the nation’s top-ranked centers for ophthalmic surgery and research.

She specializes in advanced cataract surgery and premium intraocular lenses, offering patients personalized solutions for visual freedom and reduced dependence on glasses. Her expertise includes a full range of premium intraocular lenses—including multifocal, extended depth of focus, and toric lenses—as well as the full spectrum of refractive surgery, including LASIK, PRK, implantable collamer lens (ICL) surgery, and refractive lens exchange.

She is trained in a variety of advanced techniques for both cataract surgery and corneal transplantation, allowing her to tailor surgical plans to each patient’s individual anatomy and visual goals. Her approach is evidence-based, results-driven, and precise—designed to maximize clarity and long-term performance.

In addition to cataract and refractive surgery, Dr. Wang is skilled in full- and partial-thickness corneal transplantation, including penetrating keratoplasty (PK), deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK), Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK), and Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK). She is also attentive to glaucoma monitoring and provides minimally invasive glaucoma interventions when indicated.

Dr. Wang completed her ophthalmology residency at the Medical College of Virginia, where she served as Chief Resident and was recognized for research excellence, receiving the Resident Research Award. She has published on surgical outcomes in corneal transplantation, glaucoma risk, and emerging refractive techniques, and served as a contributing reviewer for several chapters in the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Basic and Clinical Science Course in Refractive Surgery.

She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Cornea Society, and Women in Ophthalmology. Dr. Wang is known for her structured, high-precision approach and clear, professional communication. She partners with patients who value expertise, clarity, and collaborative decision-making in their surgical care.

A Bay Area native, Dr. Wang is proud to bring world-class surgical training back to the region she calls home.
