Monofocal VS. Multifocal Intraocular Lens (IOL)
The cataract extraction and lens implantation procedure is the same for both monofocal and multifocal IOLs. For multifocal lens implant surgery, additional sophisticated testing and preparation before surgery is required by the doctor and patient. The main point of differentiation between monofocal and multifocal IOLs is in the type of vision type of vision they provide.
