Thanks Dr Thomas King for a great eye doctor experience. Though the practice seems to be very busy he answered all my questions patiently. After a thorough examination I walked out with my first contact lenses. I can highly recommend this place.

I went to Pacific Eye Associates on a recommendation and saw Dr. Seiff. He is great. Very cool and relaxed, but I never felt that he is taking any of my concerns lightly. He also performed surgery on my and I must say great job.

I'm amending the "one-star" review I posted April 11th because my eye doctor, Dr. Thomas King, read my review and resolved my duplicate billing issue!

This place totally screwed me over financially. First they tried to charge me for a missed appt that I never scheduled. . .then I get a bill in the mail for $115 for a 5-minute follow-up appt. To add insult to injury, they charged my credit card TWICE. . . so now I paid $230 for a 5-minute follow up appt and can't get the office manager to return my calls. If you have to get your eyes examined annually and feel like forking over major dough for it, then by all means check this place out. Otherwise, DO NOT GO HERE.

Very mixed, although I have been going here for a decade, I do keep considering looking for a new place. Having a lot of opthamologists and optometrists makes it convenient. But the waiting room is pretty grim, and that is important because they almost always make you wait a long time. Half an hour is standard, although they break it up by having a nurse give you an eye test while you wait for the doctor; then you return to wait some more. And the doctors are a mixed bag. I've had separate emergencies handled by Dr. Atkins and Dr. Allen, and both are brusque and uncommunicative. They seem to know their stuff, but if they don't share enough info with the patient, that isn't very helpful. Dr. Atkins particularly I would not be treated by again. Yet Dr. Heiden is wonderful -- a very high standard of care and thoroughness as well as expertise -- so is Dr. Lin. And most of the optometrists seem fine.

I have only been in this office for a short while thus far - but it was long enough to be very impressed.

As I described in a previous review for West Coast Retina, I had the unfortunate luck to have a retinal detachment in August, 2007 - on my 4th day of work.

When I began to experience a shade in my right vision and suspected something was going on, I called my husband and asked him to find me a retinal specialist...somehow he found these people in our Cigna Directory, called them to explain the situation, and they were able to fit me in....

Although I had to wait for a seemingly endless amount of time in the waiting room (the only reason I'm giving them less than 5 stars), I give them major props for quickly recognizing what was going on, and then referring me on to West Coast Retina - who performed emergency eye surgery on me the next day and saved my vision.

In particular, I give top thanks and kudos to Dr. Anne Fung - the highly talented doctor who serves as the specialist in their practice for the type of problem I was experiencing.

While Dr. Fung had had a very busy day, she treated me with the utmost respect and courtesy, gave me her full attention and was then saavy enough to get her colleagues at West Coast Retina on the phone and convince them that the NEEDED to see me (both because I was in danger and also because I guess it allowed for a cool surgery!) - even though it was late on a Friday afternoon.

Once she had convinced them to see me, she went above and beyond by asking how I had gotten to their office (my boss had driven me) and then arranging to call a cab for me so that I could get over there as soon as possible...she also asked West Coast Retina to keep her updated on my progress - indicating to me that she really cared.

I don't know much more about this practice at this point, but I look forward to working with them further as my regular eye practice - and would thoroughly recommend them to anyone with risk for retinal detachment!
